Told ya 🙂 The next few weeks I will be sharing some Hong Kong fashion and beauty news after my trip over there. And although it was quite short and time was sharp I spotted some trends during my rare shopping moments.
Shopping abroad is just truly inspiring for me. Feeling the fabrics, checking the silhouttes, the colours. It gives a lot of inspiration to dress up and gives me energy to create new looks. And sharing them with you is the best part. So check below the 4 trends I spotted during my Hong Kong trip.
TREND 1 : DULL COLOURS
One thing’s for sure. Colours go more towards dull and faded colours instead of bright or fluo. Powder tints, spice colours, mustards is what you see in stores right now.
TREND 2 : THE CULOTTE
The culotte is still a big thing in Asia. The silhoutte last year was more A-line and stopped just below the knee. Now it is more flowy, a bit longer and falls straight down the leg. It gives a cute, casual look and is often combined with a loose top. I adore this look. So, of course, I bought one for myself. I found a cute one in blue velvet. Perfect for wintertime.
TREND 3 : T-SHIRT + SLIP DRESS
It isn’t new and you see it quite a lot in Belgium too, but the slip dress over T combination is a big thing now in Hong Kong. Mostly combined with a white T-shirt but you see some powder combinations too. The slip dress often has a frill at the bottom. This combo can easily be worn in wintertime with a fine knitted jumper underneath and some panties and heels.
TREND 4 : THE RUFFLED A-LINE DENIM SKIRT
Whaw, what a word, right ?! But I spotted a lot of those A-line denim skirts with a ruffled messy hem. They look super cool combined with a sweater or T tucked in the skirt and some cool chunky boots or white sneakers. The denim itself is washed down and often had a grey tone.

Nice blog post. I liked it much though i haven’t visited HongKong yet still, i’ve collected information about the fashion trends in HongKong. Mostly, I prefer the online shopping giant like Zalora and Sephora. Two big giant in clothing and cosmetics.
