REVIEW : MATTE LONG LAST LIPSTICK PRIMARK

What’s up, folks ? While you read this I am preparing my short trip to Hong Kong and before I leave I wanted to share with you a review of one of the lipsticks I bought this summer.

It’s the Matte Long Last Lipstick in the colour Tickle from Primark.

I have to be honest. I am quite cautious when it comes to makeup on low budget prices. Questions that automatically pop up in my mind are : “Will it not irritate my skin ? Will the colour be intense enough ? Will the colour stay ?”

But when I saw this lipstick at one of my shopping trips, I thought : “C’mon, let’s give it a try.” So I added the lipstick to my shopping basket. I was too curious too see if a matte pink lipstick would suit me and I have to say, trying the samples in the shop was not an option. The samples were quite nasty and totally ruined by other customers.

So it became a ‘let’s try at home’ to see if this lipstick gave me those Kylie Jenner lips. BTW for me Kylie Jenner is the trendsetter in this whole matte pink lip scene.

All said and done, when I first tried it, I was a bit dissapointed. I didn’t realise in the shop that the lipstick has a vanilla smell. It’s a ‘Boontje’s thing’ but I am not that keen on lipsticks or glosses with a perfume. Most of the time I find the smell too strong and after a while it starts bugging me and it can be even a trigger for headaches.

On the otherhand I was totally thrilled about the colour. No cheap look and for sure intense enough. Even wearable on daily base. And when you have a cute light summer tan, it is very pretty.

After wearing it for a day I was happy with the time it stayed on. I only had to retouch it once and the smell did not irritate me during the day. I got used to it quite quickly.

My conclusion : this lipstick became one of my favorites this summer. It is a great colour and the intensity is good. The colour stays long. The only thing I would change, if I could, is the smell for all above reasons. But if you don’t mind a sweet vanilla smell I totally recommend this lipstick.
